Legal Newsletter Editor (Level 1 Journalist)

Reuters is seeking a Legal Newsletter Editor to create a must-read newsletter for the legal industry. The successful candidate will work as a member of a team of expert legal journalists producing content for the online news platform of Thomson Reuters’ flagship legal product Westlaw. 

The daily newsletter will summarize and provide commentary on the major legal events and topics of the day, drawing on stories produced by the Reuters team as well as other publications. The newsletter will be succinct, entertaining and will become required reading for legal professionals.

This job provides flexibility to work from anywhere in the U.S. – the work does not need to be performed in one of our offices.

As a Legal Newsletter Editor, you will:

  • Design and launch a daily newsletter that will reach attorneys at the top law firms and corporate legal departments across the U.S.
  • Be responsible for writing and editing the newsletter, with the help of another editor
  • Develop contacts with top law firm attorneys, in-house counsel and legal experts
  • Present original ideas in fresh and interesting ways
  • Collaborate closely with other members of the legal news team, as well as other journalists across Reuters
  • You’re a fit for this role if you:

  • Have at least 5 year of experience writing about legal issues
  • Have strong connections/sources in the legal industry
  • Write with clarity and flair
