OverviewWe have a superb opportunity for a Linux production engineer with a proven track record of developing and supporting Linux technologies within automated and scalable environments. You should have strong operational focus and enjoy automation along with the opportunity to work with HPC technologies.You will work alongside our Quantitative Development team who design and maintain our data pipeline and analysis platform used by traders, researchers and other engineers.As part of this team you will help maintain production jobs providing critical trading information. You'll also support quants and developers to deliver code faster and with high quality.* Manage, monitor and automate our production infrastructure and jobs supporting multiple trading strategies.* Support developer and quants toolchain, build system and continuous delivery infrastructure.* Managing our grid infrastructure using automated configuration. Monitoring and planning for resource usage. Liaising with the systems team for server provisioning, upgrades and recycling.* Managing security, permissions and credentials in conjunction with systems administrators.* Design, scheduling and monitoring production jobs, making sure they run on time. Troubleshooting problems, finding the root cause and propose preventive solutions.* Support the development toolchain, manage and maintain the Git versioning system. Repository creation/management, environment/release management and build/deploy automation.* Creation and maintenance of documentation for internal use.* Do what must be done in order to keep critical systems operating.What we're looking for* Good understanding of operating systems, servers, and networking.* Operationally-minded with a solid understanding of what it takes to deploy and run mission-critical systems in Linux environments* Experience designing configuration management systems (Ansible) and automation pipelines (Cron, Tidal or other job scheduler)* Strong scripting abilities (Bash and Python)* Experience with version control, build servers and automated testing. Atlassian Suite a plus (Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jira)* Experience in workflow and resource management tools ( Airflow and SLURM)* Experience with Conda Package, dependency and environment management.* BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experienceNice to haves* Experience using DB (Oracle, MS Access or MySQL) and SQL* ETL and data extraction* Knowledge of distributed computing environmentsPersonal attributes* The ability to self-manage, self-motivate, and seek process improvement opportunities* Excellent problem solving and Root Cause Analysis skills* Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with traders, quantitative researchers, and other engineers* Good attention to detail, self-motivation and ability to react to changing prioritiesSIG is not accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms.
