General Responsibilities You will be an integral part of an energetic team working to collect and publish compelling mental health journeys in varied impactful formats which will be distributed to audiences, all carefully curated with the aim of inspiring hope and promoting help seeking behaviors. Think Humans of New York, but bigger, and for mental health! Collaborate with graphic designers Wearing any hat needed (engaging in various roles and duties which may be outside of standard duties) to achieve your team's and sometimes other teams upcoming OKR's and product goals Actively learning on the job and diving into new areas where you may have little expertise in Learning from mistakes and failed projects (you'll be wearing a lot of hats) Amplify the efforts of our executive team (CEO, COO, VPs) and help implement our vision Own the mission of our organization and wear whatever 'hat' is necessary to achieve OKR's! Role specific responsibilities are dependent on the team you are matched with and can be discussed further during in-person interviews. Ignite is a fast growing startup and our internships are not traditional (big company) internships, so be warned that position titles don't equate to traditional job responsibilities!
Requirements You're a great writer. Maybe you've got a great blog. Maybe you write stories or plays, or perform in sketches. Whatever you do, you're obsessed with doing it right Strong copy-editing abilities; excellent written communication skills Deeply passionate about mental health and all things copy Growth mindset, hungry to learn and not afraid of failure Comfortable being pushed outside of your comfort zone in a true startup environment; wearing any hat needed (aka possibly constantly pivoting to new outcomes and roles and responsibilities in different functional areas outside of your normal functional area based on changes in the startup's priorities - it's a rollercoaster of a journey!) Meticulously organized or open to learning FAST: you're excellent at efficiently managing projects, especially in a fast-paced (sometimes chaotic) environment Great navigator or open to learning FAST: constantly testing hypothesis and outlining strategy for pivoting when needed Personable: highly empathetic, comfortable interfacing with end-users on sensitive topics Relentless learner: you want to maximize your experience with us and learn as much as you can Be honest, transparent and high-integrity
