Key Objectives

This position will be responsible for building, testing, validating and maintaining models for pricing and underwriting functions within the Commercial P&C Lines business unit. Property and Casualty products insure against risks detrimental to the overall health of an organization. The position will contribute to innovative approaches to model development while building knowledge of the business context in which the models operate. The person will be expected to understand and analyze complex insurance risk factors and articulate results to the various stakeholders, including but not limited to underwriters, product managers and actuarial.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

* Assist in the development of predictive models to improve the risk selection and profitability of the Property and Casualty lines.
* Work with key customers to finalize plans for the model's form and implementation.
* Assist IT in implementing and testing the models.
* Monitor the performance and usage of the models.
* Recommend and implement changes to existing modeling practices.
* Participate with the team to analyze and solve problems.
* Create and maintain documentation associated with the models.

The position is within the North America Commercial P&C Analytics team (part of Global Analytics Team) and will be based in Philadelphia, PA. Desired Qualifications

* BS degree or higher in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Finance or a related field.
* 1-3 years in developing predictive modeling, data science, or related actuarial experience in a business environment is a plus but not required.
* Software: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Access and Word. Experience with a statistical package (SAS, SPSS, R, Python) and/or data management (SQL) and/or programming is preferred.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Effective written and oral communication skills.
* Responsive to service needs and operational demands.
* Produces accurate work products in a timely manner.
* Self-confident and objective.
