Job Summary

To lead, align, and optimize a global team focused on customer b2b integrations and e-catalog processes. Integrations are tied mostly to the Requisition-to-Payment lifecycle, or more generally Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes, and involve interfaces between customer e-procurement systems and VWRs website or backend ERP (SAP) platforms. Key objectives of the B2B Director role are to align and centralize resources, leveraging best practice processes, system interface tools, and people globally. Part of the responsibility includes developing and implementing strategies to work most effectively with Sales and customers from the initiation to completion of b2b projects, and to maximize user adoption via enriched e-catalog content, effective b2b training, and valuable dashboard metrics.


  • Oversee a global b2b resources focused on integrations and e-catalog projects.
  • Foster relationships and optimize communication with key customer-facing stakeholders, such as e-business country managers and customer owners on the Sales team.
  • Implement effective engagement processes and tools to prioritize requests based on RIO, risk, and impact.
  • Provide program management leadership for global b2b supply chain enablement.
  • Drive new b2b technology solutions to help solve customer business challenges and facilitate ease of use and customer-friendly interfaces.
  • Suggest best practice, technology and process improvements within VWR systems, and ensure that VWR system changes are transparent to external customers.
  • Vendor Relationship Manager, negotiating and managing key B2B marketplace contracts.
  • Optimize revenue opportunities within key customer b2b marketplaces (Ariba, SciQuest, Hubwoo, Perfect Commerce, Oracle, Point, Coupa, ESM...)
  • Propose centralized strategy for EDI/XML application development tools and resources.
  • Responsible for b2b growth strategy and electronic integrations development vision.
  • Responsible to create centralized b2b e-catalog processes, leveraging global tools and resources which ultimately drive enriched content for customer product searches.
  • Provide leadership and direction to b2b technical resource teams.
  • Drive quality process automation, order-to-cash cost reductions, and operational efficiencies via integration projects.
  • Encourage strong organizational, business analysis, and process excellence skills.
  • Realize and communicate trends related to web technologies and e-commerce integrations
  • Create centralized and streamlined b2b support processes. Provide effective training
  • Benchmark against industry competition to ensure best-in-class b2b capabilities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing
  • Experience with b2b integration standards and communication protocols (cXML, xCBL, OCI, AS2)
  • 10 + years experience in a marketing role with proven increasing responsibilities
  • 5+ years leadership experience
  • KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Knowledgeable with PTP, OTC and logistics system integrations
  • Expertise with e-procurement and supply chain processes
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven team motivator who is able to develop talent
  • Able to coach and create dynamic teams
  • Ability to provide program and project leadership
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

    Typically works in an office environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.

    Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.

    A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.

    Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
